This policy explains how What Makes You Fall (“we”, “us”) handles personal data when you use What Makes You Fall.
Information we collect
Quiz answers. While you take the quiz, your answers are kept in this browser’s local storage for up to 7 days so you can continue or sign in without losing them. To show the free preview, the answers are sent to our server, scored and not stored. When you sign in and save a result, we store your answers, the time, and whether the result is unlocked. The quiz does not ask for your name, gender, orientation, relationship status or other sensitive details.
Account data. Google sign-in provides your Google account identifier, name, email address and profile image; email sign-in provides your email address. We store these so you can access your saved results.
Billing data. Stripe processes payment details. We receive customer, payment-status, country, tax and transaction identifiers, but never full card numbers.
Technical and analytics data. Essential logs may include IP address, browser details, timestamps, security events and errors. If you consent, Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity may collect page use, interaction, device and session data. Quiz answers and results are not sent as analytics data, and the quiz is masked from session recordings.
How and why we use data
We use data to score and show your result, keep unlocked results in your account, process payments, prevent abuse, support you, measure how the site is used and meet legal or tax obligations. Legal bases include performing our contract with you, legitimate interests in security and improvement, consent for optional analytics, and compliance with law. We do not sell your data or use your answers for advertising.
Processing partners
We share only what is needed with Google (sign-in and optional analytics), Stripe (payments), Microsoft (optional Clarity analytics), our email provider (sign-in and support emails) and our hosting and database providers. They may process data in other countries under legally recognized transfer safeguards.
Retention
Saved results and account records are kept while your account is active. Billing and tax records may be kept as long as the law requires. After a valid deletion request we delete or anonymize data that is not legally required.
Cookies and controls
Essential cookies keep you signed in and remember your choices. Optional analytics runs only after you choose “Allow analytics” and never on result, account, sign-in or admin pages. You can change your choice any time in the cookie policy.
Where Clarity is enabled, with your analytics consent we associate signed-in visits on approved public pages with a site-prefixed internal account ID to understand visits across devices. Clarity hashes this identifier before transmission. We do not supply your email or name through this feature. Signing out or switching accounts ends the current recording and clears Clarity cookies. Private pages remain excluded. You can withdraw analytics consent in Cookie preferences.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction or objection, and withdraw analytics consent. You can delete your account from the account page or email [email protected]. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Children
The service is not directed to anyone under 16.
Security and changes
We use access controls, secured session cookies, server-side credentials, signed Stripe webhooks and encrypted transport. No system is completely secure. Material changes will be posted here with a new date.
